Tex is officially a mama! She pulled lots of fur last night and during the day today, but I didn’t see any little naked babies until dinnertime. Mama’s stashing hay in the nest box, as well. There are at least six, and they all felt about the same size. The next day or so will be critical with Tex being a first-time mama, to make sure she’s nursing them, but so far, so good.
They’re naked right now, but they’ll start growing fur almost right away. By the time I weigh them next Tuesday, they’ll have a thin coat of silky fur.
